Luminary Award

The Luminary Award for Community Service

The Luminary Award recognizes young professionals (under the age of 40) who have discovered their passion for service to others and have made significant contributions to our community through community service.

The award is co-sponsored by Family & Children's Service and the Young Leader's Council and is presented at an annual fundraising breakfast in August, the Family Biscuit Breakfast. The fundraising breakfast benefits Family & Children's Service and recognizes the Young Leaders Council's mission of cultivating service and philanthropy among our community young professionals.

Past winners include Anne Elizabeth Tachek, Will & Jameson Norton, and Ryan Chapman.

Selection Criteria:

- Candidate must be 39 years old or younger at nomination.- Candidate has demonstrated an exemplary personal commitment to community service. - Candidate is recognized by peers as a community leader.- Self-nominations are not accepted.


June 15- Deadline for Nominations | July 1- Award Winners Announced | August 25- Awards Presented at Family Biscuit Breakfast Event * Due to the number of nominations received, we can only contact successful candidates

One to three winners will be named each year. Winners must agree to allow the use of their image and personal story to promote the award and breakfast event. Winners will provide names to FCS to include on an invitation list. Winners must also agree to be present at the event to receive their award.
