Special Support For Special Families. Raising a family of your own is difficult enough. Now imagine raising your nephew, niece or grandchild because their parents aren't able to. Thousands of extended families take on this responsibility every day, and the Davidson County Caregiver Program is there to help. This program reaches out to these special families, respecting their unique situations while helping them maintain a stable and supportive environment. The Relative Caregiver Program offers support for a variety of issues through collaborations with the following organizations: Vanderbilt Legal Clinic (legal assistance), the Oasis Center (teenage support groups), Family Empowerment Services (daytime support for caregivers), and Catholic Charities (material assistance, such as clothing and furniture).
